On January 8, 2021, Gender Economics Research Center (GERC), in the framework of the 2020-2021 scholarship program for research in gender economics, held its first check-in meeting with new research fellows. During the meeting, researchers and GERC staff exchanged with an international expert from the United States - Professor Mieke Meurs, the latest news in the research area, as well as ideas on the main directions of work for the coming 2021.

Research fellows prepared presentations in which they outlined their research issues, the relevance of the selected topic, a brief description of the research methodology, and also provided a description of the data / information required to implement the chosen methodology. Professor Mieke Meurs gave valuable advice and comments for future work, and also held individual meetings with each research fellow. These check-in meetings with the scholars will be held regularly (monthly) so that they can present their progress and interim results, as well as receive feedback from Professor Meurs and other experts.

In the near future, GERC also plans to conduct seminars and trainings for its researchers with the participation of international experts from other countries.

The GERC team wishes everyone a Happy New Year and fruitful and interesting work and good publications to the research fellows.
