With the development of the processes of globalization of the economy and business, higher education faced new goals - training of professional personnel capable of working effectively in the changed conditions of the global market. The aim of the event is to create ways of international and intercultural cooperation in education through the use of innovative technologies. During the meeting, the rector of Narxoz University Andrew Wachtel made a welcoming speech, who outlined the strategic development of the double degree program as one of the directions of development of our university.
Two representatives from the Office of Development and Alumni Relations acted as speakers. Head of Department Sagyndykova Zhailagul spoke about the strategy of internationalization of the campus for the next two years. The conference also included a discussion of issues in the format of breakout sessions and a round table on the development of a strategic plan for the development of "WELCOME" conditions for foreign students and teachers. Coordinator of the project Dinara Zhaksynbek presented the results of the work of the "Welcome Center" in Narxoz from 2017 to 2019.
Paying attention to the significance and relevance of the conference, the director of the National Office of the Erasmus + program in Kazakhstan, Shaizada Tasbulatova, thanked the leadership of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU for organizing, and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation with the country's leading universities. Erasmus + programs are being successfully implemented in Narxoz. The goal of the projects includes improving the quality of higher education, developing new innovative programs, modernizing the higher education system through the introduction of reforms, as well as developing cooperation in different regions of the world through joint projects.
Narxoz University also provides opportunities for external and internal mobility, the university is involved in many international research projects. The partners of the university are higher educational institutions of the USA, Europe, Central Asia and China. In the spring semester of the last academic year, 26 students completed internships in various programs at universities in Russia, Poland, South Korea, Austria and the Netherlands.
Plus, the International Office provides students with the opportunity to develop their skills during the holidays. In the summer, 7 students took intensive language courses in Seoul; two students won grants for the Science and Technology Experience Exchange course in Tokyo. And two students of Narxoz, Mukhamedildaev Akhmetzhan and Akilbekova Alina, are holders of double degree grants from Solbridge International Business School and Gangnam University, respectively.
