Application and Selection Process

Application Process:

Applicants will work with an academic mobility coordinator in the International Propgrams Office throughout the application process. It is important for applicants to check their Narxoz email account often for important updates and notifications.


Make an appointment to meet with an international coordinator to review your goals for going abroad and make a plan for the application process: academic.mobility@narxoz.kz

Step 1
You will receive a message "Call for..." from academic.mobility@narxoz.kz
Collect, fill out and send the following documents to the Google Form:

  • Application form of outgoing student
  • Application form of Narxoz University
  • Mobility Agreement
  • Motivation letter (in English)
  • Resume / CV
  • Transcript with at least 3.0 GPA (on request via help desk or Welcome Center at the main entrance)
  • Passport
  • Two passport-style photos 3,5x4,5
  • Certificate confirming the level of language proficiency:
For programs in English: level B2 and above;
For programs in Russian: not required.
Other languages: requirements vary; check with your international coordinator

Step 2
Selection process:

After completing the application process, all candidates will be contacted by the Academic Mobility Coordinator to go through the next selection process:

  • Individual interview with the selection committee (in person/online): the interview will help determine the candidate's knowledge, skills and outlook.
  • If a limited number of places are available in the program, the selection commission will select the most suitable candidates according to the requirements. The remaining candidates can be added to the reserve list.
  • Within two weeks after the interview, candidates will receive an email notification with the decision to enroll.
  • All interviews with the commission are recorded and published to ensure transparency and academic integrity.

Step 3
The process of nomination and registration of approved candidates

Mobility coordinator sends out nominations or register you in the system of partner university. Shortly after you will receive an email from partner university with detailed instructions on registration process and deadlines. Registration is the responsibility of the student, mobility coordinator only helps you with questions.

Upon completion of registration, students are required to wait for an invitation letter and then begin to prepare visa documents. Students collect documents and apply for a visa on their own.

Credit Transfer:
By agreement of the Quality Assurance Commission and the office of advisors of Narxoz University, study plan is created according to which the student studies abroad. The selected and approved disciplines are transferred to the learning agreement, which is then signed by your advisor, academic mobility coordinator, as well as the host university.
The learning agreement can be amended during the first week from the beginning of the semester. Credits are transferred according to the estimates in the transcript and the curriculum.
Note: All earned grades will be transferred according to the approved standards. Please check with the coordinator of international programs about the evaluation translation system.

Step 4
Additional requirements for approved candidates:

  • Apostille and/or notarized translation of the certificate/diploma of previous education;
  • Apostille and/or notarized translation of certificates of non-conviction (taken from the egov.kz);
  • Medical certificate (Form 075) for those going to study abroad (to be submitted after passing the selection). A notarized translation is required;
  • Bank statement in English for applying for a visa;
  • Purchased medical insurance for the period of academic mobility;
  • Self-registration at the host university;
  • Self-submission of visa documents;
  • Permission of the Military Department (for military service): students must agree with the head of the military department the conditions of the individual plan before leaving for academic mobility;
  • For students under the age of 18: written consent of parents or legal guardian;

All requested documents must be submitted within the established time frame.

Step 5
Cancelation of mobility:

Nominated students have the right to cancel mobility due to personal reasons before the start of registration at the host university and departing abroad.

Those who cancel mobility after being sent to a partner university cannot recover back to the current semester at Narxoz University.
Students of academic mobility do not undergo mandatory registration before the start of the semester at the Narxoz.
