GERC jointly with Mieke Meurs, the professor at the American University (Washington, DC) organized the third online training for the Fellows 2020-2021.

On February 18, 2021 the Gender Economics Research Center (GERC) jointly with Mieke Meurs, the professor at the American University (Washington, DC) organized the third online training for the Fellows 2020-2021.
During the training the following foreign lecturers delivered speeches: Otgontugs Banzragch, Professor of Economics of the National University of Mongolia (Mongolia) on the topic “How to effectively use social networks?”, and Dileni Gunewardena, Professor of Economics at the University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka) on the topic “Having an impact and how to write policy brief?” There was also a speech on the topic “Publishing articles on the website “Ekonomist.kz”, made by the project manager of “Ekonomist.kz", economist Kasymkhan Kapparov.
Professors highlighted the following problems: How to effectively use social media? How to think about “packaging” our ideas/points in a way that people will remember/care about? How to make connections with government officials, policy makers, local activists that can be useful in getting out our messages? How to involve the above people in our academic conferences, presentations, publications so that they learn about us? How to turn an academic paper into a policy brief or a blog?
The project is supported by Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan.
