The origins of ancient handicrafts are lost in the depths of history long before our era. This art follows from one generation, preserving the continuity and cultural traditions, simultaneously shaping the personality of the next. Today, clothing and accessories are also a way of self-expression. It is difficult to imagine a modern person's wardrobe without a multifunctional bag, watch or fashionable bracelet.

In general, the fashion industry in Kazakhstan is developing rapidly. It is worth noting domestic jewelry designers, as their number is growing every year. They create affordable, high-quality and unique accessories that attract buyers all over the world. Today, activities in this area, which is part of the creative economy, are implemented in Kazakhstan by 300 companies, of which 110 are based in Almaty.

Creativity is considered the most important component in ensuring economic growth and scientific and technological progress, creates new jobs every day and does not require the use of natural resources. According to the British Council's report on mapping the creative industries, by 2018, Kazakhstan has about 18,000 registered businesses operating in this sector. Almaty is the undisputed leader, since 44.8% of the total number of enterprises in the republic are registered here.
