The Bolashak Association organized the event “Networking and exchange of experience of youth organizations” on September 3 and 4, where issues of interaction between NGOs, sustainable development and increasing the effectiveness of youth organizations were discussed. This project brought together about 200 activists from East Kazakhstan, Almaty regions, as well as the city of Almaty.
The head of the Department for International Development and Relations with Alumni of Narxoz University Sagyndykova Zhailagul acted as an honorary speaker. She shared with the public how to strengthen the interaction of civil society organizations and activate global partnerships, and also talked about the intricacies of applying for grant funding. A separate part of the presentation was devoted to 17 sustainable development goals voiced by the UN. They are aimed at improving the welfare and protection of our planet. Zhailagul continued her speech by a guest from Arizona State University Katie Curiel, who will spend several months at our university as a volunteer. Together, they urged young people not to be afraid to take responsibility, to think globally and to change the world around them for the better.
This series of networking is held under the auspices of the Year of Youth in Kazakhstan and has already managed to gather like-minded people in the capital of our country and the city of Uralsk.
In the coming calendar, the Bolashak Association plans to hold such events as the Youth Personnel Reserve, the festival of innovative ideas “Zhastar Otanga” within the framework of the grant won from the Center for Civil Initiatives. The terms of the competitions can be found here.
