Online training "English for specific purpose" (English for specific purposes)
In the period from November 9 to 13, 2020, the online training "QA English for specific targets" for teachers of colleges and universities "QA English for specific targets" was held. It is difficult to overestimate the role and significance of this training both for the project and at the individual level for all participants in the training. Firstly, because this is the first training, which made it possible, on the basis of a questionnaire survey of the working group members, to determine the training needs, to take into account the preferences and wishes of the project members. Secondly, it really was a long-awaited training, which helped to improve the professional language competences necessary both for the further development of the project and for improving pedagogical skills. Thirdly, it is an opportunity to at least see the consortium representatives online, to get to know each other better, to make networking and communication in the project more effective. Training organizers: - SEERC Research Center of CITY College; - International Faculty of the University of Sheffield (Thessaloniki, Greece); - Edge Hill University (Ormskirk, UK). Academic staff of the universities of the project consortium and affiliated vocational training institutions took part in a 5-day training aimed at improving the level of English proficiency and professional communicative competence of teachers. Target benchmark of the training: preparation of Russian and Kazakh teachers of colleges and universities for the upcoming ECTS / Tuning Methodology training. All sessions were practice-oriented and stimulated the trainees to share experiences and ideas. European trainers - Kelly Pasmazzi and Vicky Papachristu from SEERC, David Allan from Edge Hill University have prepared useful, practically applicable, valuable from a professional and project point of view information. We would like to express the collective opinion of the Kazakh consortium about the high quality and value, the usefulness of this training, which was already noted in writing in the form of feedback by all training participants."
