Google’s former Chief Education Evangelist discusses digital futures and the global workforce with students and industry leaders throughout Kazakhstan
During the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Narxoz University hosted Jaime Casap, Google’s former Chief Education Evangelist, for two online forums that looked at what this next generation and industry face when it comes to digitalization and the future of global work, and what are the most important skills needed and ways industry can best support and prepare the current emerging workforce coming from the global pandemic.
The first forum, The Problem Solving Generation, was broadcast live for all high school and college students, and young professionals throughout Kazakhstan. The second forum, Digital Futures of Industry & the Global Workforce, was broadcast live for industry professionals throughout Kazakhstan in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce as part of Narxoz’ Kazakhstan Futures of Businesses Series. Both forums were moderated by Katie Curiel, Narxoz University's Globalization Advisor and Senior Lecturer.
“By bringing the critical topics of digitalization and the global workforce to the forefront of discussion with students, young professionals, and industry leaders throughout Kazakhstan, we aim to catalyze and inspire individuals and organizations, both in education and industry, to find hope and opportunity during this time despite the grave challenges the global pandemic has caused,” Curiel stated. “Jaime brings two decades of experience in improving educational access, quality, and equity for students and leaders in all sectors around the world. It’s our pleasure and duty to be able to bring his knowledge and inspiration to Kazakhstan, and we hope people will continue to share these forums with their networks.”
